'Remorseful' Aaron Smith stands down from Bledisloe Cup clash



New Zealand scrum-half Aaron Smith has stood down from Saturday's Test against Australia after being found guilty of serious misconduct by New Zealand Rugby.
The World Cup winner had already been suspended for the All Blacks' final match of the Tri-Nations versus South Africa after admitting he joined a ''female friend'' in a public toilet just before he and his team-mates flew from Auckland for the game.
The 27-year-old has now been ruled out of the Bledisloe Cup clash having "voluntarily" stood down, according to a New Zealand Rugby statement.
