Redhill Road in West Heath blocked as huge branch breaks off tree

Drivers on a Birmingham road had a narrow escape when a huge tree branch broke from the trunk, blocking a busy street for almost two hours.
The incident, which occurred on Redhill Road, West Heath, led to huge queues in surrounding roads as traffic came to a standstill at 12.45pm.
National express diverted the number 45 bus service from Cofton Road, as council contractors Amey worked to secure and clear the road.
