Red Rose chief Ian Ritchie has called for the British and Irish Lions schedule to be reduced amidst fears of burnout on next year’s 10-match tour of New Zealand.

Sitting on both the RFU and the Lions board, Ritchie admitted the schedule is out-dated, with the sport becoming more physically demanding since the current deal was struck.
