Real Madrid 5-1 Legia Warsaw: Gareth Bale nets the opener as five-star reigning champions swat aside Polish visitors

Gareth Bale put Real Madrid on the path to a routine Champions League group stage win as he got the first goal in a 5-1 rout of Legia Warsaw at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Welsh winger cut in from the right to place a sumptuous effort past Arkadiusz Malarz in just the 16th minute. Three minutes later Marcelo's effort was deflected by Tomasz Jodlowiec past his own keeper to double the lead.
