Reading 1-2 Aston Villa: Steve Bruce era gets underway as late Jordan Ayew penalty gives Villains victory



Steve Bruce has had just a week to work on Aston Villa’s many wrongs — but on Tuesday night he managed something his predecessors have not managed in 436 days.
With Jonathan Kodjia’s deflected strike and Jordan Ayew’s 90th-minute penalty, Villa took all three points at Reading. Their first away victory in over 14 months.
Remi Garde couldn’t get one, Roberto Di Matteo couldn’t get one, but Bruce secured a win on his first trip away from Villa Park.
