Rare David Bowie painting sells for £7000



A RARE portrait by music legend David Bowie fetched £7000 at auction.
The 10x8.25in portrait of an unknown woman, titled D Head LXII, was designed by the late pop superstar in 1997.
Bowie, who died from liver cancer in January, donated it to fundraising exhibition ArtAid ‘98 at the City Art Centre.
The signed oil and computer collage on canvas has since been in a private UK collection.
It went under the hammer at Lyon & Turnbull’s contemporary and post war art sale, attracting bids from fans in the auction room and online.
