Rare 700-year-old Chinese banknote found with a THREAT to would-be fraudsters
 

The crumpled A4-sized piece of paper was found in a 13th century wooden sculpture of a Luohan - a name given to those who have achieved enlightenment - purely by chance by an auctioneer.
Specialists were inspecting the carving for any damage so that it could be valued when they uncovered the folded note concealed in the head cavity. 
And after researching and translating the document’s wording it was revealed to be money issued from the third year of the brutal Ming Dynasty in 1371 - and includes a grim threat for anyone caught making fake duplicates.
