Pump prices jump by 1.4% in biggest seven-day rise since 2011 as falling pound sends oil costs soaring



The cost of motor fuel has bounded forward in the last week with pump prices increasing by as much as 1.39 per cent, new figures have revealed.
New data provided by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy said petrol prices had leaped by 1.22 per cent and diesel by nearly 1.4 per cent in the last seven days.
It's the biggest surge in fuel prices over a seven-day period since January 2011, according to the Press Association.
The new figures reported that the current price of petrol - 113.72p per litre - is the highest it's been since August last year.
