Primark sales spike and recovery in its sugar business boost annual profits at ABF
 

Primark shrugged off wider high-street gloom as it lifted its same-store UK sales by 10 per cent, keeping prices low despite higher costs owing to a weaker pound, while licensed Harry Potter goods and new beauty products proved a hit with shoppers. 
Revenue rose 19 per cent to just over £7billion and adjusted operating profit rose 7 per cent to £735million as a further 30 stores were opened at home and overseas to take its total to 345.
