Priest recounts horror of cathedral burglary - but vows to forgive raiders

A priest who was first to see the Metropolitan Cathedral after it was ransacked by thieves has spoken of his sadness - but vowed to forgive the perpetrators.
Raiders broke into the cathedral in the early hours of Wednesday morning, stealing cash collections and smashing precious tailor-made collection vases.
They forced their way in through a flat roof near the front entrance before breaking through a locked interior door, which cost £20,000 to install.
An intruder alarm was activated at 2:45am and Canon Tony O’Brien was woken from his bed to attend to the scene.
