Pressure on Steve McNamara and Catalans to save Super League European credibility
 

It’s a fate the former England boss probably wouldn’t have expected when he joined Catalans in June.
At the time, the French side were flirting dangerously around the cut-off point for the Super 8s.
But McNamara inherited a strong enough squad to suggest he would pull them away from danger.
Instead, he won just one of the remaining five regular games of the season to condemn the Dragons to the Middle 8s.
Even then, with the luxury of four home games, they looked more than capable of saving their skins.
