Powys hill producer named Britain's Beef Farmer of the Year
 

A Powys upland farmer who has maximised “every morsel of land” has been named the Farmers Weekly 2016 Beef Farmer of the Year.
Richard Tudor was said to be a shining example of how a beef enterprise can thrive even in the tough terrain of the Mid Wales hills.
His grassland management at 290ha Llysun Farm, Llanerfyl, is helping him to generate gross margins of £704 per cow from his 140-cow suckler herd.
To make the best use of his hill land, which rises to 425m, he regularly analyses his soil and rotationally grazes his stock.
