Power cables problem will not delay Lidl store opening
 

A new Lidl store will have to open using electricity generators because a shop next door has not given permission for power cables to cross its land.
The supermarket chain confirmed this week that it would still be using generators when it opens on October 27 but a spokeswoman said this would not affect the opening in any way.
A spokeswoman for the next-door Co-op said: “We have been in discussion with Lidl about running power lines under our store but no conclusion has yet been reached.”
Lidl said full details of the opening of the supermarket will be available next week.
