Pound V euro: GBP slumps amid Michel Barnier's Brexit warning
 

This has put the GBP/EUR exchange rate down to €1.086, a bad start to the week - but not as low as the €1.074 rate seen in late August.
These pound losses have been caused by two factors, the first being a statement from chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier.
Commenting on the lack of progress in current Brexit talks, Mr Barnier said: "[Brexit will be] an educational process. [I am] not aggressive...but I'm not naive.
