Pound drops to new low as it sells for just €0.86 at airports
 

Going abroad sucks at the moment because the pound is so weak.
It’s reached its lowest level against the euro since 2009 when we were in recession and it doesn’t look like it’s going to improve any time soon.
A survey by foreign exchange broker FairFx for the BBC found that the lowest rate was €0.86 at Southampton Airport.
It turns out that Newcastle is actually the best place to get your euros – €1.05 per £1 – but getting there may cost more than you’re actually saving.
The average price across all airports is down from €0.99 last October to €0.95 now.
