PooPrints: DNA forensic testing could be used to match dogs to their mess under crackdown plans
 

Forensic testing could be used to target irresponsible dog owners as part of a dog-fouling crackdown by Stockton Council .
The pioneering PooPrints technology allows councils to trace owners by comparing dog mess samples with a database of canine DNA.
Barking and Dagenham Council was the first in the UK to trial the scheme, and now Stockton’s has launched a review to assess whether it could work on Teesside.
