Political clamour grows for badger culling in Wales to tackle bovine TB in cattle
The Welsh Government is promising a “refreshed” bovine TB policy that targets different areas of Wales and uses the “most appropriate and effective” control measures.
Rural affairs secretary Lesley Griffiths will unveil the new approach on October 18 but has already said government vets are considering “all routes of transmission”, referring to disease reservoirs in both cattle and wildlife.
Speaking during a National Assembly debate on bTB, she said renewed supplies of badger vaccine would not be available until next year.
