Police still hunting for firearm linked to Cross Heath arrest

RESIDENTS have spoken of their shock after being ordered to stay indoors following reports of a shooting.
They were told to stay in their properties after armed police swooped on a Cross Heath street yesterday.
Staffordshire Police also brought in sniffer dogs and the force helicopter following reports of shots being fired in Wilton Street.
The police operation focussed on an address in Wilton Street where a visitor had suffered an arm injury.
Officers later arrested a 27-year-old Newcastle man on suspicion of common assault and he was still being questioned last night.
