Police out through the night as man spends 12 hours on roof of corner shop
 

A man spent almost 12 hours on the roof of a corner shop before being brought down by police.
The man clambered onto the roof of the Bennetts Lane News shop, on Church Road in the Halliwell area of Bolton, just before 10pm on Sunday night, October 16.
Emergency crews rushed to the junction of Bennetts Lane and Church Road and the road was closed while police negotiators spoke to the man.
He remained on top of the two-storey building overnight and into Monday morning as rush hour traffic built up around the cordoned off area.
