Police officer injured in alleged hit-and-run in Northumberland



A police officer was injured during an alleged hit-and-run in Northumberland .
The officer, who was on foot on Bridge Street in Blyth, was involved in a collision with a black Ford Focus at 10.20pm on Sunday, October 16.
The vehicle did not stop at the scene and a 21-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the incident. He is currently in police custody.
The male officer was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment to a leg injury and later released.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident is asked to call Northumbria Police on 101.
