Police cordon set up after assault and robbery in Derby city centre
 

Police have cordoned off part of Derby city centre following a late night attack and robbery.
Officers were called to London Road, close to its junction with Liversage Road, shortly before midnight to reports of an assault and robbery.
The victim, who is 34 and from Derby, was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital to be treated for facial injuries after he said two people assaulted him at 11.50pm yesterday.
A 50-metre stretch of pavement in London Road is currently cordoned off and a lone police officer, in a patrol car is guarding the scene.
