Police award for 'quick-thinking' pensioners who tackled burglar



Three pensioners tackled a burglar to the ground and pinned him down until police arrived.
Peter Mueller, 70, was visiting his late mother-in-law's home in Heanor, Derbyshire, on June 24 when he found an intruder in the house.
Helped by relatives Adly Gorrafa, 81, and Sheila Gorrafa, 78, the trio wrestled burglar Stephen Ward to the floor and held him there while neighbours called the police.
They have since been given a Derbyshire Constabulary Award, usually presented to officers for bravery.
