Police arrest 77 per cent fewer children across Humberside



Humberside Police have arrested 77 per cent fewer children - the highest reduction by any force in the country.
The force has been recognised in a national report by the Howard League of Penal Reform looking into the number of children arrested by police forces in England and Wales Between 2010 and 2015.
Across that five-year period, Humberside Police have seen the biggest reduction, with 77 per cent fewer children being arrested in the force area (5,751 in 2010 to 1,300 in 2015). Nationally there has been a 58 per cent reduction in children being arrested.
