Police and CPS apologise to man whose rape trial collapsed at 11th hour
 

Scotland Yard and the Crown Prosecution Service have apologised to a man accused of rape after the trial against him was stopped.
A joint review into Liam Allan’s case found that mistakes were made in the disclosure of key evidence that proved the student was innocent.
Text messages between the 22-year-old and the woman who accused him of raping her were only handed over to his defence team days before the trial collapsed at Croydon Crown Court.
