Plug-in car sales slow after the Government slashed the subsidy for buying an electric or hybrid vehicle



Electric and plug-in hybrid car sales are slowing on the back of the reduced grant offered by the Government to new buyers.
The number of motorists claiming the Plug-in Car Grant subsidy for new green cars has plummeted to the lowest level in two years, according to new research by the RAC Foundation.
The motoring organisation said just 4,200 motorists applied for the grant between April and June, compared with 17,500 during the previous three months.
