Plans to turn 400-year-old Salford pub into apartments - but concerns over church bells
 

Pints have been drunk there for nearly 400 years but plans to convert a pub into apartments could cause a right ding dong.
The Cross Keys in Church Road is the oldest pub in Eccles and was first mentioned in a 1629 register. It was extended in the 1820s.
It shut in October 2013 but parts of it date from the 17th century.
But a town hall report says if the apartment plan is approved its proximity to a parish church could cause problems.
It says one resident supports the reuse of the building but is worried about new residents complaining about the regular ringing of church bells.
