Plans to improve traffic problems outside school



The head of Launde Primary has welcomed plans to improve congestion issues outside the school at peak times.
Leicestershire County Council Highways department is consulting on proposals to lessen congestion on New Street, Oadby, next to Launde, by removing five on-street parking spaces by the school gate, close to the junction with the A6.
The move is intended to allow for greater capacity for the left-hand lane traffic heading on to the A6, reducing queue lengths.
In addition, the school's zig zag markings will be extended further and become mandatory.
