Philippe Coutinho: Why Inter Milan miss out on huge sell-on fee of £142m Barcelona move
 

Coutinho finally go this dream move to Barcelona this week, with Liverpool agreeing a £142m deal with the Catalan giants.
But according to ESPN, the Brazilian’s former clubs Inter Milan and Vasco da Gama failed to insert sell-on clauses when they sold him.
Normally, FIFA regulations state that the selling club distribute a solidarity payment - five per cent of the transfer - to the teams that contributed to the player’s education.
But because Liverpool have had Coutinho on their books since the age of 20, the Reds are reportedly entitled to keep the whole five per cent.
