Penrhyn Quarry jobs risk after giant dyke hits Welsh Slate production
 

Quarry jobs are at risk at Welsh Slate after a giant dyke was discovered that is blocking access to high quality roofing slate.
The Penrhyn Quarry firm that employs around 200 staff have started a consultation with workers, in which up to 25 jobs are at risk.
It comes after quarry workers at the Bethesda site ran into a large igneous intrusion(a dyke) caused by volcanic activity.
