Passenger who caused Tenerife to Newcastle flight to be diverted ordered to pay compensation
 

A North East passenger whose aggressive behaviour caused a plane to be diverted has been ordered to pay compensation to the airline involved.
The disruptive antics of Claire Sanderson, 42, caused Jet2.com’s Tenerife to Newcastle New Year’s Day flight to be diverted to Shannon Airport in the West of Ireland.
Sunderland County Court has now ordered Mrs Sanderson to pay a sum believed to several thousand pounds for losses incurred by the airline.
