Parasites are posing problems



This week there is a lot for you to catch up on. It has not been the quiet time it should be in the autumn.
In the past week we have taken in 11 hedgehogs.
The smallest of these weighed just 90g, a little female. She came with a male weighing 113g, most likely they are siblings.
They arrived covered in fly eggs, which had to be picked off before we could settle them into their pen, which had a nice, warm heat-pad to keep them cosy.
The male hog was happy to uncurl and let me pick off the eggs and a few tiny maggots.
