Our favourite pictures from the Great Birmingham Run 2016



Around 20,000 people braved the pouring rain to take part in the Great Birmingham Run on Sunday.
They began by taking shelter in the car parks off Jennens Road, wearing plastic macs and ponchos over their running gear.
Then, 20 minutes before the first wave of runners set off, the clouds parted and the sun began to shine.
And the excitement grew as the warm-ups started, with lots of family and friends cheering from the sidelines.
At the sound of the Klaxon air horns, the elite athletes took off.
