Once popular allotments have now become an eye-sore

Community allotments in Kirkby were once so popular there was a waiting list - but now local residents say they are growing out of control and threatening to take over their own gardens.
The Northwood Community Garden was funded by the National Lottery and Groundwork UK, whose mission statement is ‘changing places, changing lives’.
Brian Kerrigan, whose home in Jarrett Walk backs on to the allotments said they were so lovely he used to show them to people from his upstairs windows.
