Two million walk out against Temer’s cuts

WORKERS at Brazilian state oil firm Petrobras launched an indefinite strike yesterday as part of a fightback against the unelected government’s attacks on their rights.
An estimated two million oil and metal workers walked out from midnight over austerity cuts and labour “reforms” being pushed through by President Michel Temer’s government.
Mr Temer was sworn in on August 31, soon after the Senate impeachment of elected left-wing President Dilma Rousseff, supported by the large CUT union federation spearheading yesterday’s strikes.... read more
