Obesity explained: Dangerous visceral fat could be linked to bacteria in human FAECES
 

Researchers have identified a new link between the diversity of bacteria in human faeces - known as the human faecal microbiome - and levels of abdominal body fat.
The study, found people with a more diverse community of bacteria in their waste had generally lower levels of visceral fat.
The scientists' analysis of stool samples in a study of more than 3,600 twins found evidence that some of this bacteria is inherited.
Scientists said their findings provide further evidence of possible genetic influences on obesity, through heritable bacteria found in the faecal microbiome.
