Nottingham Prison releases more prisoners in error than anywhere else
 

Seven prisoners were released in error from HMP Nottingham in just one year - more than at any other prison in England and Wales.
In fact the figure for Nottingham in 2015-16 was the highest for any prison in any single year since 2005.
It dwarfed the previous figures for the prison, with only ten inmates mistakenly released in total since that year.
A prisoner is deemed to have been released in error if they are wrongly discharged from an establishment or court when they should have remained in custody, and where the prisoner has not deliberately played a part in the error.
