Not before time: War hero's watch is returned to family 80 years later
 

A Scots family have been reunited with their war hero uncle’s precious watch after almost 80 years.
Sidney “Sid” Worrall had handed over the family ­heirloom to a fellow seaman when he thought he was going to die in a torpedo attack during World War II.
Ship’s cook Sid, from Hamilton, was burned when the Govan-built SS Athenia was torpedoed in 1939. But he survived and died in 1973.
The passenger liner was heading to Canada when it was targeted by a German U-Boat, killing 122 aboard.
