Northumbrian Pipe Week: 28 pipers from across the globe arrive in Tyneside



The moving melodic sound of the Northumbrian small pipes has spread across the world – and players from around the globe have turned up on Tyneside to prove it.
A total of 28 pipers from locations as diverse as the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Germany and the Shetland Isles have arrived to take part in Northumbrian Pipe Week.
Organisers behind the week include Susan and Malcolm Craven, who run Northumbrians and Pipers from their home at North Broomhill, near Amble.
The business promotes the pipes, provides tuition, and music for functions and tourism events.
