Northern Ireland 4-0 San Marino: Steven Davis, Kyle Lafferty and Jamie Ward ensure Michael O'Neill's side beat 10-man opposition

Northern Ireland marked the official opening of the new Windsor Park with a victory, but left it late to kill off Group C underdogs San Marino who were reduced to 10 men for much of the second half.
Although captain Steven Davis put Michael O’Neill’s side in front from the penalty spot, the win wasn’t secure until substitute Kyle Lafferty struck twice and Jamie Ward grabbed another.
Having safely despatched a team without a competitive win to their name, Northern Ireland now face a very different test against world champions Germany in Hannover on Tuesday when the roles will be reversed.... read more
