North Korea loses its grip as defectors flee Kim Jong-un's regime
 

The number of North Koreans entering Thailand illegally has surged in recent months as increasing tensions on the Korean peninsula force people to escape the hermit state.
In a blow to Kim Jong-un's regime, around 30 North Koreans are fleeing the country a week to start a new life in Thailand. 
With the impenetrable demilitarised zone (DMZ) to the south, most North Korean escape attempts are made via China, with new figures showing an increasing number of people making the onward journey to Thailand.
