North East forensic teams join forces to create region wide unit
 

Two North East police forces teamed up to create a joint forensics unit.
Durham and Northumbria police have pooled their resources creating the team which will cover an area stretching from Berwick to Darlington.
But it’s not a first – already Durham and Cleveland have created a joint roads policing unit which has gone on to star in Channel Five’s Police Interceptors.
The team will be responsible for crime scene investigation, fingerprinting and footwear comparison.
