Nobel prize winner Prof Peter Higgs to return to his native Newcastle
 

Nobel prize-winning scientist Prof Peter Higgs is to return to his native Tyneside next month for an evening to celebrate his extraordinary life.
It will take place at Newcastle’s Centre for Life when Prof Higgs, who was born in Elswick, will share stories about his extraordinary career including the ground-breaking discovery of the Higgs particle.
He will be interviewed at Life by award-winning science writer and biographer Graham Farmelo, who will start the evening with an informal scene-setting talk, beginning with atoms and ending with the discovery of the Higgs particle.
