Newcastle United shows support for veterans as it announces Royal British Legion link-up
 

A giant red poppy has been unveiled outside of St James’ Park as the Royal British Legion prepares for its busiest fundraising month.
Next year the football ground is set play to host an officers’ mess-style dinner to raise funds for the armed forces charity.
A four-course meal will be served in military mess format, with military traditions such as the passing of the port and toasts to the Queen.
The home of Newcastle United will host the military dinner on March 2 next year in aid of the Royal British Legion that provides lifelong support for the armed forces community.
