Newcastle's Blue Carpet - your views on whether the controversial work of art should stay or go
 

Some say it’s a work of art, others a waste of money.
But either way, it’s 20 years old.
Readers have been commenting on Newcastle’s Blue Carpet which could now be at risk under redevelopment plans for the area.
It was created by designer Thomas Heatherwick who was just 26 in 1996 when his studio won a competition to devise a new public art space.
The first part of the Blue Carpet square opened in 2001 and there was immediate criticism that it didn’t look blue enough.
