Newcastle council appoint enterprise tsar to bring jobs and investment into the city
 

An enterprise guru has been drafted in from the private sector to help Newcastle City Council turn a profit.
Michelle Percy, who has been hired on a salary of £82k to £87k, started at the civic centre on Monday with the task of delivering “major change”.
Ms Percy, who has overseen plush city centre developments such as the Stephenson Quarter in her previous role at property developers the Clouston Group, has been recruited to “target opportunities for commercial development and maximise the ability to generate profits”.
