New vaccine for babies on offer from today - but not all will get it



The NHS will be offering babies a new six-in-one vaccination to immunise against hepatitis B as well as five other potentially deadly diseases from today.
The Hexavalent jab - which protects against diphtheria, polio, tetanus, whooping cough, Haemophilus influenza type B and hepatitis B - follows the launch of the meningitis B vaccine in 2015.
Parents whose children fell into the relevant age bracket welcomed the meningitis jab, while others, whose babies weren't born after May 2017 when the jab was rolled out, weren't eligible.
