New UKIP leader Diane James 'quits' after just 18 days in charge of the pro-Brexit party
 

UKIP'S new leader Diane James is reported to have quit after just 18 days in charge of the party.
James, who succeeded former leader Nigel Farage at the party's conference last month, has thrown in the towel just over a fortnight after being elected.
It is not yet clear what prompted her sudden decision although sources say it may be to do with her husband's ill health.
James was elected following a bitter row between departing leader Farage, prominent Leave backing millionaire Arron Banks, and the party's ruling body.
