New Solar Gate sculpture for Queens Gardens in Hull revealed



These images show how Queens Gardens could look next year - complete with a sculpture that will literally shine light on Hull's history.
The 33ft Solar Gate had been earmarked for a site next to Beverley Gate but was turned down by planning councillors after a public outcry.
Hull City Council say the sculpture - proposed for the south end of the city centre park - would act as a sundial, shining light onto key dates in the city's rich and proud history that will be placed as discs of etched stainless steel and integrated with smart York stone paving.
