New pub boss promises ‘proper drinks’, a good chat and a game of chess at new Northampton venue



A building once home to an antiques shop in Northampton is set to give punters a taste of pub life “60-odd years ago” when it reopens as a micro ale house next month.
Work to the St Giles Ale House in St Giles Street is nearing completion, which will see the long-closed property brought back into use.
The new venue is the brainchild of three long-serving publicans from Northampton, Adam Case Terry Steers Ian Tomkins, who have a pedigree of experience working in and opening local nightspots.
