New micropub given green light to replace shop



A new micropub serving real ale, wines and gins has been given the green light.
Mark Beesley's plan to turn a Matlock newsagents and off-licence into a micropub has been approved by Derbyshire Dales District Council.
Mr Beesley took over Armitts in Smedley Street East eight years ago and already sells a large range of bottled beers and ciders, many of them from local micro-breweries.
In the past, Mr Beesley has held informal beer tastings, but now he wants to convert the premises into a fully fledged bar.
